Catch of the Day: Gold Fields
Fresh out of Bellarat, Australian five-piece Gold Fields have a distinctly Friendly Fires feel, merging reverb-laden guitar riffs with funk-filled, sometimes Late of the Pier, inspired bass. The result is a compulsively danceable blend of raucous indie-pop-rock with a modern electro-twist, songs such as Treehouse offering up an eclectic mix of choice percussion, which coupled with the smooth hook-loaded vocals of frontman Mark Robert Fuller, make for a crisp, refreshing sound. Their debut album Black Sun, released earlier this year, is available from Amazon now.
Gander at: Treehouse, The Woods, Dark Again
