Eau Claire's dynamic multi-instrumentalist Sean Carey returns with latest single Crown The Pines in anticipation of upcoming LP Range of Light set to drop at the end of this month, and following the cosmic radiance of 2012 EP Hoyas, it feels as though we've never been so close to the Wisconsin folk-smith. Pulled in by a mesmerising, soft-spoken refrain, we're treated to a relative feast of what feel to be Vernon-augmented falsettos, amidst an arresting soundscape of fluttering xylophones, piano, and spirited strings, held aloft by Carey's urgent drum work. The album can be pre-ordered on iTunes now, and looks set to join the ranks of 2014's finest.
